The Malaysian Cohort (9th MP and 10th MP)

This programme aims to improve health and well-being of Malaysians through predictive medicine. The project components includes:

  • The recruitment of a population cohort of 100,000 individuals involving collection of high quality biospecimens and information on lifestyle.
  • Research programme for discovery of biomarkers for various diseases including cancers, diabetes, stroke, hypertension, ischaemic heart disease using genomics as well as gene-environment interaction studies
  • International collaboration with The Asia Cohort Consortium, Public Population Project in Genomics (P3G), The University of Oxford and The Broad Institute.
